My photo

Road Trip!: Kruger 2

OK, so here's part 2 of our safari through Kruger National Park.  These are the pictures Aaron and I took, and as I look through them, all I can think is, "Dang.  Were we lucky or what?"  I mean the first animals we saw in the park were a mother White Rhino and baby!

There are so many favorites here -- our first close up lions (right outside our door!), elephants a few feet away from the car, the very bold baboons, majestic kudu and waterbuck, dozens of giraffe, impala and zebra, and of course, my personal animal-crush:  hippos!  I really, really love hippos:  rotund, adorable, unlikely-proportioned to the point of so-ugly-they're-cute ... and utter bad-asses if you mess with them.  And then there are the babies:  baby zebras, baby rhino, baby hyenas and yes, a baby hippo!

Most of these pictures were taken with a 300mm lens on our Canon 600D (in the States it's called the Canon Rebel T3i) ... I've tried to not be to repetitive with my father-in-law's shots ... hope you enjoy!

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back on Monday with the last Kruger photo post as well as a more thorough wrap-up of the whole experience and some of the crazy adventures we ran into.

Oh, and if you're wondering about that crazy blurry shot somewhere in the middle, it's the best shot any of us got of an African Wild Cat, which are very rare, so I threw it in there :o)
